Job Description:
JOB PURPOSE:
The primary roles of this position is to ensure Community Mobilization and Distribution of Food Assistance to the most vulnerable people affected by the Natural Disaster in Ghor and Badghis provinces during the project lifetime. This is a General Food Distribution project supported by World Food Program (WFP) through its Seasonal Support Program (SSUP-F). The distribution of food assistance will take place to the most affected households after a verification and registration process by the WVA MEAL unit. This is a daily paid position which the job holder maybe required to work in an on/off modality. The job holder’s wage payment will be made based on the actual worked days. The jobholder must be able to travel to all rural districts & villages of Ghor and Badghis provinces to attend the project activities and support the team in implementation of the project activities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In collaboration with the project officer, and Senior Zonal Managers, provide orientation to the targeted community members of the project about the overall project design and methodologies.
Conduct meeting with selected communities, stakeholders and relevant government representative and orient them on WFP project components.
Facilitate the verification process of the identified beneficiaries and develop a final list of beneficiaries.
Take active role in the registration of beneficiaries at the distribution centers.
Ensure that the distribution center is properly organized and secured, the distribution center surrounded by ropes to control crowd and ensure smooth distribution process.
Prepare “distribution center visit reports” and ensure proper completion and safe return of all tally documents and beneficiary lists to the office for safe storage.
Ensure proper accounting of all quantities of commodities received and distributed at each center.
For considering COVID-19 measures: Ensure proper-crowed control and social distancing among the beneficiaries during the distribution process and the distribution center.
Ensure proper documentation including taking beneficiary thump prints on beneficiary distribution list (BDLS).
Scrutinize all waybills for commodities arriving at the distribution centers. Ensure that the commodities are of correct quantities and quality as manifested on the waybill. Immediately record all quantities delivered short (missing), quantities lost in transit and quantities damaged if any (In the field and FDP).
Supervise loading of food that lefts over after the distributions. Ensure that a waybill is prepared for the remaining food to be return back to the warehouse.
Ensure submitting daily, weekly and monthly distribution reports to the distribution team leader.
Ensure timely and proper coordination with all internal and external stakeholders including government (ANDMA), WFP’s third party monitoring (TPM) and all relevant units within WVA for timely and safe deliver of assistance to the beneficiaries.
Ensure resolving all project related conflicts among the targeted communicates during the project implementation.
Ensure that food distribution is done based on the WVI standard procedures and SOPs.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge and experience:
14 for Female and 16 Degree for Male in Social Science, Economy and Agriculture is preffred .
1-2 years works expreince in filed of Food Distributer and Mobilization.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to travel to all districts of Ghor (where applicable).
Strong monitoring and evaluation skills.
Communication skills and knowledge of local communities and stakeholders
Familiarity with context of Ghor province (where applicable)
Good report writing skills.
Ability to engage with different stakeholders and partners in the project site.
Interpersonal, management and conflict resolution skills.
This position requires a mature candidate, a self-starter, with dedication and ability to work with less or no supervision.

Must demonstrate willingness to learn and work with others as a team.
Ability to perform field assignments and willingness to travel to all districts of Ghor including hard to reach areas.
Should be willing to live and work in very difficult and high security-risk areas.
Having English language skills and Computer literacy are added advantages.
