Human Rights Research and Advocacy Consortium (HRRAC) founded in 2006, is an independent Afghan non-governmental organization engaged in research, advocacy and capacity-building in the areas of women's and children’s human rights, health, education, access to justice, and public participation. HRRAC is a unique platform that brings together national and international organizations committed to advocating with and on behalf of Afghans for the protection and respect of human rights in Afghanistan. HRRAC is a women-led and women focused organization and places women and girls at the heart of its work and seeks to address women’s rights directly by changing relationships of power between women and men through advocating for laws and policies that advance women’s rights that enables them to participate effectively in decision-making.

Job description

Job Description:
Key Reponsiblities:

Support quality implementation of evidence based instructional strategies for literacy (reading, writing, vocabulary, listening/speaking, information literacy) in all content areas

Provide professional learning to teachers in utilizing district approved curriculum and materials.

Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.
Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others.
Apply all teaching methodologies during course of teaching
Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and hand-outs.
Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
Keep and monitor records on attendance, class/course/home work
 
Job Requirements:
Bachelor in Education, Elementary Teacher certification (reading specialist certification preferred but not required)
Training in coaching techniques including data coaching
Very Good knowledge of all local languages
Able to teach Mathematics Teaching theoretical and practical
Applying all relevant teaching methodologies
Possess a deep understanding of literacy development and current research regarding effective literacy instruction
Minimum 3 years classroom experience including implementation of reading/writing workshop (balanced literacy) in multiple grade levels
Experience with building leadership positions and/or roles (team leader, facilitating collaborative discussion, etc.)
Experience collaborating as a member of a Professional Learning Community
