In Afghanistan, Roots of Peace has facilitated the export of $445 million in fresh and dried fruits, nuts, and spices to new and existing overseas markets, provided training for nearly 200,000 Afghan farmers in a wide variety of horticultural skills, provided more than $100 million in machinery grants and created 14,500 full-time jobs in all areas of farm production and export. Roots of Peace is currently implementing the USAID-funded Agriculture Marketing Program (AMP) and the INL-funded Community Based Agriculture and Rural Development (CBARD) in Afghanistan.




Job description

Job Description:
Oversee and facilitate program delivery within the assigned region.
Supervise regional Extension officers (horticulture, irrigation, marketing), M&E, and Gender staff.
Serve as the primary point of contact in the region.
Monitor regional activities, progress, problems, and constraints for reporting to COP/DCOP.
Ensure regional compliance with ROP and UNDP rules and policies.
Contribute to project activities, planning, reports, and deliverables.
Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
 
Job Requirements:
Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience, Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience implementing donor projects, preferably in the horticulture and firm assistance fields.
Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn more about gender and youth inclusion best practices.
Previous work overseeing MEL, reporting, and ops/finance personnel; ability to write progress reports.
Fluency in English and relevant regional languages.
