About Women Activities & Social Services Association (WASSA)

The Women’s Activities and Social Services Association (WASSA) was established in 2002 as Afghanistan's first women’s independent organization. WASSA aims to promote the women’s equal participation in socio-economic sectors and support the current humanitarian crisis by providing emergency humanitarian and livelihood assistance to vulnerable households, especially women. To support WASSA’s vision and mission, some potential candidates are needed to be recruited for a project funded by UN Women to strengthen women’s livelihoods through increased access to skills and resources. The project will be implemented in three districts of Herat Province for a period of 15 months.

Job description

Job Description:
Be well prepared to teach computer programs.
Check computer hardware to ensure functionality.
Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to the specifications.
Provide orientation and guidance to the user on how to operate new software and computer equipment
Prepare a lesson plan based on the assessment findings
Train youth on computer skills (soft war and hardware)
Evaluate Youths learning capacity on regular bases  
Organize, and schedule upgrades, and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
Perform other job-related tasks assigned from time to time by the management.
Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor that are within the general scope of the described responsibilities or of project
 
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science or other related fields.
Maximum 2 years of working experience in the relevant fields are required.
Proven experience as an IT instructor or relevant position, Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, Excellent communication ability
Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
Effective communication, (i) full working knowledge of English (ii) fluency in one national language, and good reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in the other.
Skills:
Dari or Pashtu is mandatory
Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills
Good Communication and interpersonal skills
Good knowledge of community development especially working with women,
Excellent communication, problem solving and presentation skills
Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meeting of deadlines
Good reporting skills including report compilation, analysis and presentation
Culture sensitive and respect for local norms
Confidentiality and privacy
