Job Description:

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

The objective of the Guard position will be to provide security services to MSH staff and property in Afghanistan. 

 

Major Activities / Responsibilities:

Reporting

Provide security services to both staff and premises of MSH.

Reports to the Security Supervisor

 

Main Duties:

Provide general security for the personnel and staff at the office. This includes:

Access control

Search techniques

Sign in – booking in for visitors and staff

Monitoring CCTV

Reporting defects in security equipment

Immediate actions on security related incidents

Incident reporting including with the authorities

Patrolling the grounds (where applicable)

Any other duty assigned within a security context

Manage crises situations acting lawfully in direct defense of life or property.

Communicate clearly and effectively with staff.

Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property observing for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances.

Make use of monitoring surveillance equipment.

Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points.

Permit only authorized personnel entry to premises.

Obtain help by sounding alarms when the situation calls for it.

Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities.

Restrain trespassers.

 

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Secondary School Certificate of Education preferred.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 1-2 years in security guarding experience

Experience working with international organizations preferred.

Live and hail from the province

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Knowledge on workplace violence awareness and prevention programs.

Knowledge on network access and monitoring policies.

Local knowledge of the office environment

 

COMPETENCIES:          

Eligible candidates must have excellent ethical conduct,  honesty and no criminal record. Be medically fit, and have  good inter-personal communication skills.
