Summary:
Construction foremen are responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of construction workers on a construction site. They must ensure that the work is completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. In addition to managing and scheduling subcontractors’ work, a construction foreman coordinates material deliveries, communicates with the project manager and other stakeholders, supervises safe equipment use, and manages any issues that may arise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Time-management skills to meet deadlines and ensuring construction phases are completed on time so that the next phase can start.
Report project progress to superiors.
Develop a work schedule for workers.
Supervise all construction workers.
Be the liaison between construction workers and supervisors.
Solve disputes between workers.
Ensure that a project is adequately staffed.
Assign tasks to construction workers.
Ensure that the project is staying on or under budget.
Work proactively with construction engineer /project manager and Procurement Unit to identify project materials, arrange for transport of materials, and coordinate with communities to handle tools and construction materials, maintaining a stock book at construction sites.
Lead in monitoring project activities to ensure quality implementation of work and make accurate reports to the construction engineer.
Work with local shuras, and community leaders to ensure communities understand stakeholder responsibilities, agreements, progress and document all communication clearly and promptly.
Train local technicians on projects’ appropriate use and essential maintenance after the close of the project.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with the project team and other ACHRO colleagues.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including project participants and other community members, government agencies, other NGOs, and service providers.
Organizing project review sessions at the community level
Ensuring transparency and accountability at the community level through providing updated information on the project status, the challenges and etc.
Assisting the target beneficiaries to post their complaints about the project team and any other issues related to the project using ACHRO complaint mechanism and hotline
Assisting in the process of any surveys and assessment that might be conducted in the community.
Ensuring that the community well understands the project and accept it
Mobilizing the community to actively participate in different aspects of the project.
Perform any other tasks assigned by project manager.
Job Requirements:
bachelor degree in the field of Engineering, social science, Ecnomics or any other relevant field.
Having more than 3 Years of experience in the Relevant Field.
Proficiency in Local Language and English Language is an advantage.
Excellent knowledge of New Data collection and data analysis.
Strong Report Writing Skills.
Strong communication skills.
Strong command of local languages (Dari and Pashto).
Strong Knowledge of social sensitivities and social fabrics
