Community-Based Protection Monitoring of IDPs, Returnees, Host Communities, and Refugees in SER (Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Ghazni, Regions.
The UNHCR Operation in Afghanistan supports the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in providing protection and assistance to refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and refugee returnees. UNHCR seeks to find durable solutions for these groups, to provide reliable information to all humanitarian partners, and to advocate for ways to address the underlying causes of forced displacement.
WSTA as a partner to UNHCR in SER (Paktia, Paktika, Khost, and Ghazni) and Paktia province in the South Eastern Region; implement "Protection Monitoring of IDPs and Refugee Returnees" in 2019.
The Reporting Officer will directly work under the management and supervision of the Project Manager and will be responsible for Data Management and Reporting as the main components of the project. This includes but is not limited to;
Working with Field Monitors to address the data and reporting requirements in line with the project description.
Development of emergency, post-emergency, integration, and return reports in line with the project requirements and reporting tools.
Development of progress reports including bi-weekly sitreps, monthly reports, mid-year reports,s, and final reports.
Contributing to the development of a proper data management system addressing the requirements of the project under data management and reporting.
Contributing in the development of new ideas to promote quality of data collection, data management, and reporting in line with the project description.
Promoting and Maintaining good communication with UNHCR, UNOCHA, government line departments, and other stakeholders.
Any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager in line with the project description.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor Degree with at least 3 years of experience as a reporting officer/writer (preferably with NGOs)
Strong Management skills
Familiarity with humanitarian context especially in Central Region provinces and Paktia
Understanding of humanitarian terms
Strong interpersonal, intercultural, and communication skills
Excellent analytical and written skills, and good computer skills
Fluency in both local languages and English
