Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Preparing/reviewing receipts, vouchers, fund transferred vouchers, and fund receipt vouchers, and filing them properly based on the system.
 Managing all expenses and properly checking & verifying documents.
 Making sure all the bank records are reconciled with bank statements.
 Prepare and process Advance Requested Forms.
 Prepare the exchange rate on a monthly basis.
 Coordinate and support in managing sub-awards.
 Verifying the sub-award financial reports
 Assists the accounting team in the preparation of timely and quality project reports for donors in compliance with donor and internal Search requirements.
 Participates in month-end closing activities including journal entries and other analysis
 Maintains accounting/finance departmental files and desktop procedures and processes documents for areas of responsibility.
 Update financial spreadsheets with daily transactions.
 Supports in the preparation of payroll, one-time payments, overpayments, refunds, invoices, and payments.
 Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
 Process invoices and follow up with clients, suppliers, and partners as needed.
 Provide administrative support during budget preparation.
 Coordinates team meetings, takes notes, and tracks performance against various project plans for knowledge sharing.
 Provides administrative support as necessary
 Provides support during the annual audit process or any other project requiring specific employee accounting information.
 Participates in month-end closing activities including journal entries on a daily basis and other analyses as per need.
 Other duties that are broadly in line with the above key contributions as assigned.

Skills & Competencies

 Education
 University degree in accounting, business administration, or equivalent
 Experience
 A minimum of 2 years of experience working for INGO in finance, grants management positions,
 Experience in handling Donor and statutory audit
 Skills and Competencies
 Strong spreadsheet and data analysis advanced skills (Microsoft Office, especially Excel, any accounting software, using SAGE INTACCT would be an advantage)
 Commitment to working in a conflict transformation organization and flexibility to respond to dynamic situations and ability to manage multiple activities at once
 A good team player and ready to work with a diverse team of employees
 Strong leadership and management skills
 Strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English.
 Knowledge of local languages (Pashto and Dari) will be an added advantage
