Job Summary
The Education Officer will be responsible to support the program section in the smooth running of project activities. For instance, reporting, recording, attending meetings both internally and externally, and supporting all operation departments accordingly to the project activities like procurement, HR’s paperwork and as well finance. The Education Officer shall be responsible to coordinate issues with provincial project team provincial stakeholders as well as central stakeholders and to ensure that all activities in the target districts are implemented according to the project work plan and to ensure effective record keeping of all project activities by team members. She/he shall be responsible to collect the reports from various layers review provide feedback and finally share it to Program Coordinator/Area Manager for final review and approval.
Duties & Responsibilities
Under the overall administrative direction of Area Manager/Program Coordinator, oversee AGE project planning and implementation including school Project Staff, teacher recruitment teacher training and awareness to children care givers.
Will be responsible to support IRW North office education department in general while the project implementation “assisting out of school Girls Access to primary Education in Afghanistan (AGE)” in particular within the targeted province and she will particularly carry out the following duties and responsibilities.
Undertake training needs assessments for project staff/teachers and partner with the assistance of Area Manager/Program Coordinator in the province.
Develop & organize on-the-job refresher training to address any gaps and build the capacity of individual and departments targeted by the project.
Design trainings to the Project Staff, in accordance to the approved proposal of the projects.
Regularly evaluate the impact of all conducted trainings.
Coordinate in monitoring of the activities according to the approved activities schedule.
Capacity building of the project staff and stakeholders.
Producing initial reports of the activities and sharing these reports in timely manner.
Keep the record of the project and do the proper data collection and file accordingly.
Assist in recruitment of project staff and project field staff in coordination with HR and relevant policies.
Engaging the community in activities establishing Community Advisory Boards and in facilitating the community understanding of the overall project
Coordination with relevant government departments in the province including provincial education department district education departments and department of economy.
Keep the perfect record and filing system of the project activities and do the proper data collection.
Supporting the unit head in implementation of other educational project.
Conduct field visits to IRW targeted areas.
Prepare monthly quarterly result based progressive report the relevant line Ministry of Education Ministry of Economy and clusters.
Inspire staff to excel in their jobs while also achieving goals and meeting deadlines.
Preparing and coordinating daily plan and activities that contributes to the objective of the project.
Appropriately planning for visibility of IRW activities in the field.
Regular and on need field visits from the project site.
On time reporting of the overall activities being undertaken at the field level to Area Manager/Coordinator.
Monitoring and supervision of the activities at the field level and sharing the findings with the field coordinator and relevant staff for improvement.
Controlling Project budget.
Initiating Project Final Report
Working on Project Work breakdown structure.
Any other tasks assigned by the line supervisor.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (Master Preferred) in Education, Social Science, project management or any related field with 3-5 years’ relevant experience
Experience:
At least 3-5 years of work experience, particularly with international organizations or local NGO in the field of Education and trainings.
Collection and coordination with stakeholders
Strong Command of Dari &Pashto as well as English both written and spoken.
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-ethnic team and take on diverse tasks.
Required Skills:
Warm personality with strong communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work in groups.
If necessary, willing to go to the field with other project staff.
Sound ability to speak local and English languages and operate a computer
Be punctual, on time, and able to meet deadlines.
Attending Sector as well as cluster meetings
Outstanding Problem-Solving skills
Excellent Report Writing Skills
