Job Description:
The contents developer creates 2 video and 5 audio stories in a professional capacity for publications. S/he has the ability to turn written stories into video and audio, and create scripts in local languages and English. Additionally, the role holder is required to coordinate with the volunteers and field staff in the working provinces to collect data, and fact-check the stories and information before contents development, besides working closely with Editor-in-Chief, Communications Specialist as s/he develops the stories.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct research on given topics and collect raw materials including photos, videos, and information from the field;
Coordinate with the volunteers, field staff to interview beneficiaries, and collect data for the audio and video stories; 
Prepare questionnaire and conduct interviews with volunteers and beneficiaries;
Develop audio and video stories with a standard acceptable to Integrity Watch and its media partners;
Write scripts for audio and video stories in local languages and English;
Write contents for website, social media, print publications, infographics, and other platforms as required;
Make sure the content of the story is relevant, innovative, interesting, and appropriate;
Meet deadlines and make sure the story is ready for publishing/broadcasting on due dates
Any other task assigned by line supervisor.
 
Job Requirements:
At least Bachelor degree in arts, journalism, development sector or social sciences;
Innovative and experienced in building, narrating and editing stories in the development sector;
Proficient in using designing, and editing programs;
Has the necessary equipment, and skills to produce video and audio stories;
Proven track record of experience as contents developer with reputed organizations is an asset;
Strong written communication, and translation skills in Dari, Pashto and English is required; 
Understanding the style and format of stories in written, audio and video.
Willing to work overtime, holidays and weekends as requested by Integrity Watch management

Integrity Watch is an Afghan civil society organization committed to increase transparency, accountability, and integrity in Afghanistan. The mission of Integrity Watch is to put corruption under the spotlight through community monitoring, research, and advocacy. Our community monitoring work includes development of community monitoring tools, mobilizing and training communities to monitor infrastructure projects, public services, courts, and extractives industries. Our research work is focused on policy-oriented research measuring trends, perceptions and experiences of corruption and covering wide range of corruption related issues including security and justice sectors, extractive industries, budget and public finance management, and aid effectiveness. The objective is to develop new, ground-breaking empirical research in order to set the agenda, influence decision-makers, bring to the public attention non-documented and non-explored issues. The aim of our advocacy work is to enhance Integrity Watch’s pioneering role in advocating for knowledgeable decision-making and informed public debate on corruption and integrity. Our advocacy work includes facilitation of policy dialogue on issues related to integrity, transparency, and accountability. We advocate for access to information; budget transparency, accountability, and participation; aid transparency and effectiveness; social accountability; and other issues related to anti-corruption.
