Job description

Job Description:
Design and conduct training courses for the laboratory technicians of the AKHS-A and partner NGOs working in the program areas.
Provide refresher training for the laboratory technicians and supervise the quality of work.
Prepare specifications. And participate in the procurement of laboratory equipments and reagents.
Monitor and supervise the quality of laboratory services in Baghlan, Bamyan and Badakshan health facilities in close collaborator with the Regional Health Program Managers.
Review the training needs for new recruits.
Develop protocol and procedure manual; for BHCs, CHCs and Hospitals.
Provide a monthly work plan and feedback report to the Regional Health Program Managers and Hospital Advisor.
And other duty assigned by CEO/Program Director and Hospital Manager.
 
Job Requirements:
Education:           Medical Laboratory Technologist

                              B.Sc/ M.Sc degree in Medical Graduate from a reputable university in Medical Laboratory                                     Technologist with elective in Microbiology from a recognized institution.

 

Work Experience:            Proven experience in biochemistry, microbiology, parasitological, clinical chemistry, blood bank techniques, and be able to calibrate and quality control biochemistry.

                                                Vast experience in supervision clinical audit and evidence-based practices, staff mentoring and institutional development particularly laboratory designs.

 

Skills:

Knowledge of BPHS and EPHS, good computer skills, communication skills, problem solving and reporting skills.
Possesses strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), time management, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking and interpersonal skills (team player).
Good sense of urgency to accomplish tasks and responsibilities.
Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and deliver high quality results with a positive attitude.
Leads by example and motivates his/her team to achieve the program’s objectives and goals.
Promotes a healthy and professional environment within the team.
always conducting him/herself in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner
Skills:                    Good computer skill in word, excel, MS Office

 

Languages:           Excellent spoken and written English language skill

 

General:                Able to work independently and can take initiative

                                Flexible team player.

Desirable:              Knowledge of essential Package of Hospital Service and Basic Package of service policies.

                                Knowledge of Access, Epi-info, Archive

                               Knowledge of working Dari.
