Job purpose:
The Nutrition Trainer Officer is responsible to provide technical support to project particularly agriculture-based activities. The incumbent is responsible for providing trainings to the BNFs during the implementation of the project, and ensuring that activities and outputs are implemented in a quality and timely manner and according to the implementation plan.
Key Areas of Accountabilities:
Directly reports Project Coordinator, and collaborate with community mobilization assistants, and MEAL officer to design and effective community mobilization strategy, project implementation and monitoring plans.
Ensure improved coordination by working closely with project extension officer, IPM officer, social mobilizer, MEAL officer and Nutrition trainer to ensure project activities are implemented smoothly. .
Ensure alignment of project activities to project design.
Build the capacity of staff to ensure quality implementation.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Delivering training to female community members on topics such as eating healthy on a budget, cooking healthy food, and understanding the nutrition value of different food commodities
Promoting healthy eating practices amongst children, mothers and families through community based FGDs and sessions
Educating community members about healthy eating habits and lifestyles through one-on-one counselling sessions or group workshops
Motivating female community members to make healthy lifestyle changes by providing them with information and support on diet, nutrition, and food hygiene
Developing lesson plans for group classes or individualized instruction in topics such as food preparation, nutrition, and health
Assisting in developing meal and food menus for an ideal wealth group of targeted community
Developing training material for community-based sessions
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning
Proactively participate in gathering information on the impact of nutrition education program on behaviour of targeted beneficiaries.
Partnership
Ensure the nutrition education program is well coordinated with the nutrition actors in the targeted communities.

Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Qualification
A bachelor’s degree in nutrition, food science or public health
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
At least 2 years of progressive work experience in the capacity of nutrition trainer, or promoter.
Experience in developing nutrition promotion training material.
Good spoken and written skill in English Pashto and Dari Languages and possess good skills in report writing
