Job Description:

Watan’s Social and Technical Services Association (WSTA) is a Nonprofit and Non-Governmental Organization that was established in 1992 with the aim to provide humanitarian assistance to vulnerable Afghan communities. WSTA is registered with the Ministry of Economy under license number 352, and with the UNOPS office, based on code No. WON and Registration No. OPS-CR-0535. WSTA is a member of ANCB and ACBAR.

Since its establishment, WSTA has supported the most vulnerable and conflict-affected men, women, and children. We have partnered with UNHCR, UNOCHA, UNWFP, IOM, IRC, Care International, Australia Aid, Canada Fund, and Relief International to provide humanitarian aid through over 200 projects implemented across 20 provinces of Afghanistan. With our headquarter in Kabul, we have 10 active provincial offices in Parwan, Bamyan, Ghazni, Nangarhar, Paktia, Khost, Paktika, Panjshir, Herat, Daikundi and active presence in Kandahar and Balkh. Currently, WSTA has 400 active employees which include 320 males and 80 females. WSTA provides livelihood, vocational training, education, shelter, water, and food assistance to the most vulnerable communities particularly women in Afghanistan.

Main Duties & Responsibilities: 

Provide Case Management and psychosocial support to individuals, families, and communities

Provide outreach services, and home visits, where required and feasible

Lead on the identification and mapping of community services in the area and ensure an up-to-date 4Ws service mapping exists for each area where services are offered.

Identify, establish, and strengthen referral pathways for clients to ensure they are linked to needed services

Provide training on referrals to MHPSS services in the supported centers

Provide awareness sessions on MHPSS services available and facilitate referrals

Prepare, and deliver training for the purposes of capacity-building on psychosocial support, and basic MHPSS

Adhere to all WSTA protocols and procedures surrounding case documentation, confidentiality, and security

Liaise with general practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to support clients in need of MHPSS through the referral, diagnosis, and treatment process

Conduct other MHPSS-related activities as requested.

 

 

 

Minimum of 1 year of experience in an MHPSS-related role

Minimum bachelor’s degree required in a field related to the social sciences, psychology, social work, or counseling
