Job description

Job Description:
Regularly gather security related information from RI and other sources, and present to the Project manager and security manager at RI Kabul
Maintain a close vigilance on the local political and military situation and make reports to the security management team.
Make recommendations on road movements to the project manager
Regularly prepare and conduct trainings on the RI SOPs for project staff.
Brief newly hired national staff on RI SOPs.
Ensure that staff follow SOPs and inform RI security manager if staff repeatedly fail to follow procedures.
Regularly visit the district (Health facilities) to train staff on SOPs and security related issues, to check procedures and compound security, and gain understanding of the security situation.
Based on changes in the security situation make recommendations for updating or revising security measures in RI sub office, and in coordination with project manager in the province
Take care of maintenance of communication equipments (Radio, Mobile and Satellite phone) and make sure that these are operational.
Monitor staff movement from sub office toward to the field for all road missions.
Accompany staff on road missions/foot mission to remote areas as needed.
Ensure that all vehicles (including rentals) are in safe working order.
Regularly check compound safety and make recommendations for improvements.
Monitor, supervise, and train Guards.
Prepare and maintain guard’s duty chart and ensure the security of office assets.
Ensure that safety equipment for office compounds is present and in good working order (fire-fighting equipment, first aid kits, etc.)
Ensure staff know what to do in case of fires, earthquakes, and other emergencies.
Implement emergency drills (fire drill for example) periodically
Develop trainings and periodically train guards and drivers
Develop trainings and periodically train Field staff
Prepare security incident reports, analyze the incidents and let the management know about the consequences for Relief International.
Carry out and accomplish other tasks defined by and agreed with the Country Director.
 
Job Requirements:
Must be willing to regularly travel to provinces & districts where RI works
Graduated from University
Minimum 3 years’ Experience in similar position preferably with NGO.
Experience using communications equipment: Radio, Thuraya
Excellent Dari, Pashto, and English skills is a must
Computer: able to use email, excel
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Reliable and honest
